Poses

I’ve been trying to practice doing poses in the past few days. Although I didn’t have a lot of time doing them, I try at least to do rough sketches of poses I find interesting while reading comics. I noticed that most of the poses I do are either frontal, and the arms are all spread out, they’re too “static” and flat. I really admire artists who can draw flexible characters, and those that even if the character is just standing, you can see that the pose is very natural. Right now, what I’m doing is whenever I see a pose that I like I sort of copy it and learn how the artist was able to structure that pose and stuff like that. I guess it’s not swiping if you do it for educational purposes. I’m also thinking of picking up sports magazines tomorrow, maybe that’ll also help me understand the body in motion. Oh yeah, I’m also reading Journey to the Centre of the Earth, I know it’s a bit old and late but it’s good fun especially for hyperborean journey research.

That reminds me, I should get some good stock paper tomorrow too. Man, I need more gold coins.
